Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set it up?

I'm glad you asked! We've put together this step-by-step video to help you out with that:

Can I Keep the Case On My Phone?

Yes! In fact, we encourage you to keep your phone case on your phone while you use PhoneSoap. Most of the bacteria on our hands is passed to our phone cases. PhoneSoap was designed to fit your phone with the case on. If you have a thick case with additional accessories like a socket or stand, please refer to the PhoneSoap 3 dimensions to make sure it will meet your needs.

Is PhoneSoap safe for my phone?

Yes, PhoneSoap is completely safe for your phone! PhoneSoap doesn't use water or chemicals – it uses UV-C light. UV light kills germs but doesn't harm you or your device. This light is completely safe for anything you place inside – except germs.

UV light can potentially cause damage with continuous, prolonged exposure to plastic. However, it would take many continuous hours of exposure to have this effect. Our products were designed with this in mind. When you close the top of PhoneSoap 3 or the door of the XL, the UV lights will turn on for a pre-programmed amount of time and automatically shut off when done. This is more than enough time to completely sanitize your devices and kill all the germs, but it is never enough time to damage your gadgets. You can feel confident your phone and tablets are safe inside, but the germs are not!

Will PhoneSoap 3 work with my phone?

PhoneSoap 3 works with all smartphone models, including:

  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8/8 Plus
  • iPhone 7/6 Plus
  • iPhone 7/6
  • Android
  • Windows Phone
  • Samsung
  • Blackberry
  • HTC
  • Nokia

PhoneSoap also works with other electronic devices, including cameras, iPods, remote controls, and more.

Can I charge my phone while using PhoneSoap?

Yes, charge your phone by connecting a charging cord to your phone and then plugging it into the universal USB port on the back of the PhoneSoap unit. Any device that charges through a USB port (camera, iPod, etc.) can be charged while being sanitized in PhoneSoap.

Will I still be able to hear my alarm and notifications when my phone is inside PhoneSoap?

Yes, PhoneSoap 3 and PhoneSoap XL are designed with special acoustic outlets that allow you to hear notifications and alarms while your phone or tablet is being sanitized. Let your phone charge overnight or at the office – you’ll hear your its sounds loud and clear.

Can PhoneSoap clean anything else?

While PhoneSoap was created with phones and tablets in mind, you can use it to sanitize just about anything. If you can fit it inside, PhoneSoap will sanitize it.

Is PhoneSoap safe for hospitals?

Yes! Hospitals and healthcare locations all over the country use PhoneSoap to stop the spread of illness-causing bacteria carried by smartphones and tablets. The UV-C light technology inside PhoneSoap was first used to sterilize environments like hospitals. PhoneSoap is used in nursing stations, waiting rooms, NICUs, and many other types of medical facilities. Learn more here.

What are the differences between the PhoneSoap 3 and PhoneSoap 2?

The PhoneSoap 3 has the same beautiful design as the PhoneSoap 2 and still uses the same powerful UV-C germicidal light that will sanitize your phone in 10 minutes. Additionally, the PhoneSoap 3 has two improved features:

  1. Cord Management – PhoneSoap 3 has improved cord management by creating a passage for the cord on the side of the device instead of needing to be threaded through. This simplifies the user experience and allows you to more easily attach your phone to the charging cable while using PhoneSoap.
  2. Additional Charging Port – An additional port has been added to the back of the phone to transform the device into a charging hub. This allows you to charge multiple devices at the same time.
